Experience
Fredericksburg ISD
Director of Bands
August 2013 - Present
During my tenure in Fredericksburg ISD I have held a number of roles and have served as Director of Bands for grades 6-12 for since Summer 2018. During my time as Administrator for the Band Department, the Band Program has experienced significant growth and student success. Over my seven years as a member of the Band Department I have had many roles, including:
Director of Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Jazz Ensemble
Assistant Director of The Fredericksburg High School Marching Band
Visual Design and Programming Team Leader Fredericksburg HS Marching Band
Founder, organizer, and Director of the Fredericksburg Jazz Festival
Founder & Director of the FHS Saxophone Ensemble
Clarinet & Saxophone Specialist
Organizer Fredericksburg High School Annual Chamber Music Concert
In each of these roles I have utilized the latitude given to increase the achievement level of our students through focus on detailed learning processes, repetition, grit, and procedural efficiency. Additionally, my educational approach while in Fredericksburg has evolved dramatically in the areas of character development, career soft skill attainment, organizational dynamics, and deep learning using Music and Band as the content vehicle for attainment. I attribute this growth to great support from fellow staff, growing my knowledge base through active District Leadership roles such as serving as a Process Champion for FISD, DEIC member, and Campus Improvement Committee Winner. Additionally, I value my own continued learning process through continuing to read, analyze, and implement new procedural and cultural structures as the program evolves and in support of student learning outcomes and socio-emotional supports.
